First and foremost, this game is very addicting. At first I had no intentions on buying Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 but after playing the demo for 5 minutes I was instantly hooked. In the video, I did not speak on the multiplayer aspect of the game because I have yet to play it. There’s a lot of people complaining that there is no online multiplayer but I am quite okay with that decision to leave it out. Read the rest of this entry »
After 40 plus hours of game time and with 72% of the game completed, I finally beat my first Grand Theft Auto game ever! I’ve played every game in the series thus far and Grand Theft Auto 4 is the first game that actually kept my attention long enough to see it through until the end. Without doing a huge review on it, I’ll just say that I really enjoyed the story and how it kept me guessing throughout the game. I was somewhat emotionally invested in Niko and I just wanted to see the man catch a break.
Now that I’ve beaten the game, it’s time to make some videos! This video displays an easy way to do Jacob’s side missions. I fell in love with the public transportation in the game and used it every chance I got. I’ve logged probably 400 miles in a taxi alone!
I really should get back to Lost Odyssey before Ninja Gaiden II and Metal Gear Solid 4 come out but this is the life of a gamer. Sometimes we don’t finish all the games we start.
I’m just starting to get this blog off the ground and I’m hoping for great things in the future. To know where you are headed in life, you must know where you come from. After the break lies early test subjects of my reviewing skills. Feel free to laugh, I know I did. Read the rest of this entry »
This is my first attempt to do a review with the inclusion of game footage from the game I’m covering. I have an awesome title screen, which a close friend Jason created for me, but I didn’t include it in this video yet. There’s a lot of stuff wrong with the video, including my monotone voice, but the more of these I do, the better they will get I hope. So let me know, what do you want to see in a video review? What points would you like me to touch on? If you are a video guru, Jason, what format should I edit in, upload in, all that fun stuff in?
The game I reviewed, quickly, goes by the name of Conan. It’s really a great game if you can find it on the cheap. And remember: THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!
I know I’m late to the party but it’s still going on right? I never got the chance to play Rez on the PS2, so when it was released on Xbox Live I thought I’d give the demo a try. At first I didn’t see what all the hype was about so I searched the Interwebs for guidance. Instantly I was told to go into the Option menu and switch on vibrate because for some reason it is off by default. So I go do this and continue to play the demo, still not understanding what I’m missing. The vibration does add to the game, but it still didn’t make it as special as everyone was saying; so I let it go.
Another week goes by and I keep hearing how good the game is so I decided to go ahead and buy it on a whim, hoping the be enlightened as I play more of the game. I made it to Area 4 without any problems and started to enjoy myself but didn’t have my “OMG” moment.
Then as I reached the boss for this area, it happened:
I don’t know if it was the boss, the way the music and controller vibrated as I surged forward through the tunnel, or maybe it was all the intense colors that were being thrown my way but I fell in love. The way the music vibes with the enemy’s I’m shooting, the feeling of weightlessness, and the since of freedom in this game is what I think makes it amazing. I’m becoming a believer of games that aren’t 8 hours longs because this was an experience I think everyone should have.
As you can see I got owned but that’s not the point. My point is that certain games take awhile to stick and when they do, you all of a sudden have a new understanding and appreciation for the game. I’ve heard that Area 5 is mind-blowing and I need to see it to believe it.
